Dial Up Net Connection

Connect to Internet using BSNL Telephone

You can connect to internet without broadband, all you need is a BSNL Telephone connection, Modem, External or Internal, and a computer or Laptop. Follow the procedure to connect to Internet using Dial up.

1. Go to Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->Communications-->New Connection Wizard.
( A New Connection Wizard dialog Box Will Open )

2. Click Next
3. select the radio button Connect To The Internet and Click Next.
4. Now Select 2nd Option, Set up My Connection Manually And Click Next.
5. Select 1st option, Connect Using Dial-up Modem And Click Next.
6. Type ISP Name As-->BSNL. Click Next.
7. Phone Number As-->172222. Click Next.
8. Username is Your Area Code followed by Telephone No.
Note : Eliminate First Zero in your Area Code.
Eg, For Chennai Area Code is 044--> 44(phone No.)
9. Give Your own Password And Click Next.
10. Click On Check Box Add Shortcut To Desktop and Click Next.

In the double click the BSNL icon and click on Connect. You can use Internet.

The Speed depends on the speed of the Dial-up Modem you are using. External modem can be faster. The Cost as on 01/01/08 is

07:30 Am to 10:30 Pm --- 9.60(Phone Charges)
10:30 Pm to 07:29 Am --- 4.80(Phone Charges)
With Addition to this The Internet charges is 10Ps Per Minute.

07:30 Am to 10:29 Pm ---> Rs. 15.60 /Hr
10:30 Pm to 07:29 Am ---> Rs. 10.80/Hr
